Understanding Autel Updates

All Autel tablet scanners come with 1 year of free software updates by default. In some cases, you may see models advertised with 2 years of updates on our product page. If so, please contact us so we can authorize this additional upgrade period for you.

Each model has a different annual subscription fee. Generally, the more advanced the tablet, the higher the subscription cost.

How to Update Your Autel Scanner

There are three main ways to renew or update your Autel tablet:

• Update Directly on the Tablet

  On your tablet, go to the “Update” section. Here, you can check your current subscription status and click “Renew” to pay directly on the device. Payments are processed in real time, and your update will be available immediately.

• Update Through an Authorized Dealer

  You can also purchase updates through one of our authorized dealers for better price. Simply select the correct product model, purchase the subscription, and then use the activation code to renew your software.

• Update via PC (Autel Website)

  Visit pro.autel.com and log in with your Autel ID. Once logged in, go to the update purchase section, select your device, and complete the purchase to extend your subscription.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I don't subscribe?

If you choose not to renew your subscription, you can still use your scanner for daily diagnostics. However, you will not have access to certain online or advanced functions, and you won't be able to download the latest updates. Importantly, your tablet will not become unusable—it will continue to work for basic diagnostics.

Can I update if I haven't renewed for several years?

Yes! Even if you haven't updated for several years, you can still purchase an update now. Your subscription will be extended for one full year from the date of purchase. You do not need to pay for the missing years in between.
